From GED Graduate to Entrepreneur at COA - Irene Schindler

For Irene Schindler, her instinct, focus, and inspiration came as a young girl traveling with her father in Germany. Since then, she has cultivated her love of jewelry making into a successful business from her Camden County home. Irene began as a College of The Albemarle student in the GED Program and never looked back. She continued her studies at the College and in May 2008 became the second student to graduate with an Associate Degree from the Professional Crafts: Jewelry Program. Irene stated that “the teachers at COA are very supportive and helped guide her in the direction needed. Kathryn Osgood, my jewelry instructor, allowed me to develop my own style and to create pieces that are unique.”
