College of The Albemarle is an accredited, open-admissions community college, offering a wide range of daytime, evening and online courses during three semesters -- fall, spring and summer -- covering seven counties in Northeastern NC and online.

COA offers instructional programs that prepare students to accomplish one or more of the following:

  • prepare for employment opportunities
  • transfer to senior colleges and universities
  • achieve personal and professional goals

Some programs are offered during the evening as well as during the day. Academic advisors are available to assist students who need information and guidance in planning acceptable programs to meet their educational goals. At COA you can take a single course or enroll in one of our associate degree programs. Many students choose COA so that they can transfer their credits easily to a bachelor's program and save considerably in tuition costs.

Full-time students can generally complete associate degree programs in two years. The associate degree is designed to provide general education courses for transfer to senior colleges and universities.

Search COA's Course Schedule by subject or location, including online. The schedule gives course names, meeting times and dates for credit courses at all COA locations and online.
