Transfer Credit to COA

Submit Your Official Transcripts

To transfer credit to College of The Albemarle (COA), mail your official high school transcript, High School Equivalency official scores and college transcripts to the Admissions Office.

Please note that transcripts become property of COA once received and can’t be released to third parties, including the applicant.

Upon receipt of your official college transcripts, the registrar will evaluate the completed courses and apply credit. Credit is given for courses in which you’ve earned a “C” or better, at institutions accredited by regional agencies.

International students will need to have an approved agency evaluate transcripts from other countries. Approved agencies must be members of the Association of International Educators (NAFSA) or the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO).

While there’s no limit to the number of transfer credits COA will accept, a minimum of 25 percent of your course work will need to be completed at COA to receive a degree. Grades transferred from other colleges will not be used to determine cumulative grade-point averages or honors for graduation from COA.

Academically suspended students who aren’t eligible to return to their last attended institution may be admitted to COA.
