How do you assist students at COA? 

My interactions with students are recruiting and retention. As the special population’s coordinator for College of The Albemarle, my job is to identify individuals throughout our seven county service area; who are non-traditional, under-employed, under-represented, economically disadvantaged, the dislocated worker, displaced homemaker, and people who may be at-risk.

Students are encouraged and mentored by me as they go through their course of study here at COA. In addition to all of that, I help with assistance in locating child care, transportation, and job placement. 

I also support SGA activities and other events on each campus.

It’s a wonderful position to be in because it helps people succeed, and it gives them another opportunity to experience change in their lives.
