How do you assist students at COA?
As the Director of Basic & Transitional Studies, I have the opportunity to serve our students in many different programs of study. At COA we offer students two options for obtaining a high school credential, the GED program and the Adult High School program, both in structured class settings and online. We also offer English as a Second Language courses to help adults whose first language is not English.
As you might have noticed basic skills changed the department name to Basic & Transitional Studies in July, 2011. This change allowed us to provide our basic skills student the opportunity to earn curriculum credit while still enrolled in the GED/AHS programs. The new Basic & Transitional Studies Program offers our students Career Pathway Programs and the academic support needed to complete a college certificate or diploma certification.
So I would like to invite you to contact my office to find out what Career Pathway is in your future. Remember, you can earn college credit while completing your GED/AHS programs.Back to Top
