Professional Arts Gallery

College of The Albemarle's Roanoke Island Campus, located at 205 Highway 64 South Business, Manteo, NC, is home to the Professional Arts Gallery and the Professional Crafts: Jewelry program of study. The gallery has been home to a variety of art shows and events featuring talented, local artists and students.

Chroma: Jewelry in Color

Courtney Starrett jewel pieceThis exhibition was a national invitational show of contemporary jewelry featuring work that incorporates color as a primary focus. The show celebrates the diversity in the field of contemporary jewelry, featuring work by artists using a variety of materials and techniques, from traditional to experimental.

March 5 to April 3, 2014
The exhibit was curated by Kathryn Osgood, Assistant Professor, Professional Arts Jewelry, College of The Albemarle.

Faculty Art Exhibit

The exhibition features  work by College of The Albemarle faculty members Gale Flax, Patricia Sterritt, and Kathryn Osgood.

September 27-October 26 2012
Gale Flax is a Norfolk printmaker and book artist.Patricia Sterritt is a painter who currently works with encaustic medium and collage and mixed media hand-pulled prints from the etching press.Kathryn Osgood is a studio jeweler, metalsmith and enamellist.

 

 


Art of Enamel Exhibit 

Art of EnamelThe exhibition featured eighty works of art by twenty-seven artists who embody the finest in American enameling. COA was honored to exhibit such a strong variety of work in the field of contemporary enameling.

March 6 - April 8, 2012
The exhibit provided our students the opportunity to see a wide variety of enamelwork styles and techniques.
