Elizabeth City Campus

Edenton-Chowan Campus

COA is developing a pool of part-time applicants to facilitate Department of Public Safety personnel training. Requirements: four years criminal justice experience; must pass a reading comprehension test and attend PowerPoint and Word training; applicants cannot have an active/pending disciplinary action. If hired, must take Specialty Instructor Training within two years of General Instructor Certification. Contact: HR Office, (252) 335-0821 x 2236.

Dare County Campus

Security Officer, up to 25 hours/week. Requirements:  high school diploma with 2 years of security experience & a valid driver’s license. 

Custodian, up to 25 hours/week. Requirements:  high school diploma/equivalent; 2 years custodial experience; experience maintaining floors.

Regional Aviation and Technical Training Center

Machining Instructor needed. Requirements:  diploma in machining technology or related field with three years experience in the machining industry – experience includes working with conventional machine tool operation, blueprint reading, quality, set-up, programming and operation of CNC lathes and mills, and CAD/CAM software. COA is developing a pool of part-time applicants to teach Developmental Reading and English courses at all locations – Elizabeth City Campus, Dare County Campus, and Edenton-Chowan Campus. Requirements: BA English, BA Literacy/Reading, or BS Education with 18 semester hours of  English and/or Reading coursework and teaching experience. Experienced part-time instructors are needed to teach day, evening & distance learning (using Moodle) or through telecourses/video courses. At this time, we are developing a resource file for future positions in the following areas: Anatomy & Physiology, Art, Architectural Technology, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Information Systems (CIS), Computer Integrated Machining, Drama, Electrical Technology, English, History, HVAC,  Internet Technologies, Machining, Math, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Music, Nursing, Physical Education, Reading, Speech/Communication, Sociology and Surgical Technology.

COA is also developing a resource file of potential part-time instructors in the following areas.
