Ten Surgical Technology graduates received their surgical technology pins and caps at College of The Albemarle’s (COA’s) twelfth annual pinning ceremony in late July. Held in the COA Performing Arts Center, the late afternoon ceremony was a traditional service and included pinning lapel pins and taking the Surgical Technologists’ Pledge. Dr. Kandi Deitemeyer gave the welcome address and Surgical Technology Program Coordinator Brandy Wooten presented awards.
Awards were presented to several surgical technology graduates for their dedication to the program. Lindsey Lehman received the Academic Excellence Award. The Academic Recognition Award was presented to Lindsey Lehman and Tyeshia Smith, and the Scholarship Recognition Award went to Tyeshia Smith.
