College of The Albemarle’s (COA) Adult High School Program (AHS) program is designed for adults who need to complete the credits required to obtain a high school diploma.


Seating is limited so register early.

As a candidate, you must qualify and meet local guidelines before being admitted into the AHS program. Coursework is completed in the Elizabeth City Campus Academic Studies Center, room C 113, or online.

When you register, please supply your:

  • Social Security card.
  • State-issued photo identification (or passport or military identification).

If you’re a qualifying minor (age 16 or 17), please have your parent/legal guardian complete and sign our Minor Application for Admission. This release form is for students who do not attend Pasquotank County Public Schools (PCPS). If you’re a PCPS student, contact Kevin Sawyer at 252-335-0042.

Please have your Minor Application for Admission notarized. Contact our notary, Tessa Parnell, at 252-335-0821 ext. 2302 to make an appointment.

Student Preparation and Recourse Class (SPARC)

SPARC is a hybrid class that helps people who are on the go, have children in school, work during the day or require more flexibility in their schedule. Guided lab hours are Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2 to 7 p.m. and instructors will be available. You’ll complete your course work in the Elizabeth City Campus Academic Studies Center, room C 113, and/or online.
