ProctoringAcademic Support Services

Some courses may require proctored exams monitored by impartial individuals (proctors) to help ensure the security and integrity of each exam. All proctored exams and their due dates will be clearly indicated in the course syllabus at the beginning of the course.

You may take proctored exams for no charge at our Elizabeth City, Edenton-Chowan or Dare County Campus. If you live outside the College of The Albemarle (COA) service area, you may arrange for a qualified proctor to supervise your exam. Please be advised that proctors may charge you a fee for their services, and that a relative, no matter what their position, may not serve as your proctor. For more information about proctor qualifications and exam procedures, refer to the Proctoring and Examination Security Policy.
