ProctoringAcademic Support Services

College of The Albemarle (COA) Students

Some courses may require proctored exams monitored by impartial individuals (proctors) to help ensure the security and integrity of each exam. If a course requires proctored exams, this information is clearly indicated in the course syllabus at the beginning of the course. You may take proctored exams for no charge at COA – Elizabeth City, COA – Edenton-Chowan or COA – Dare.

If you live outside the COA service area, you may arrange for a qualified proctor to supervise your exam. Please be advised that proctors may charge you a fee for their services, and that a relative, no matter what their position, may not serve as your proctor.
