Add, Audit, Drop and Withdrawal Policies
Registration Calendar and Information
Add A student may add a course until classes start using WebAdvisor. After that, a student who finds it necessary to add a course should confer with his/her advisor.
Audit Registration (including tuition charges) for the courses to be audited is the same as for courses taken for credit. Audit courses carry no credit hours and earn no grade points. The request to audit a course must be received at the time the student registers for the course. Audit requests will not be accepted after the student has registered for the course.
Drop A student may drop a course until classes start using WebAdvisor. After that, a student who finds it necessary to drop a course should confer with his/her advisor. Drops after the 10-percent date of the semester/term are considered withdrawals and must be submitted to the Registrar on a Registration Change Form. A student who drops a class is advised that this may affect his/her Financial Aid and/or Veterans Benefits. Financial Aid students may contact the Office of Scholarships and Student Aid at 252-335-0821 ext. 2355. Veteran students may contact the Registrar at 252335-0821 ext 2252 or registrar@albemarle.edu to determine whether their benefits will be affected.
Withdrawal A student who finds it necessary to withdraw from a course or the College must speak to an advisor and submit a Registration Change Form by the published date listed on the semester Information Calendar. If the Registration Change Form is submitted by the published Withdrawal Deadline, the student will receive a grade of “W”. If the Registration Change Form is not submitted by the published Withdrawal Deadline, the student must see the course instructor and the grade will be assigned by the instructor. Students should refer to the Registration Information/Calendar for to determine the last date to withdraw and receive a grade of “W”.
