Q: I have submitted my paperwork to receive Veterans benefits, how long will it take to receive an award letter?
A: Once the school submits your GI Bill Application to the Regional Processing Office, normally there is a 30 to 90 day waiting period. Once your application has been processed you will receive an award letter.
   
Q: Do I have any months of entitlement left?
A: In order to find out how many months of entitlement you have left, you need to call the Regional Processing Office (RPO) in Decatur, Georgia:1-888-442-4551.
   
Q: Must I pursue a degree to receive VA benefits?
A: Yes, in order to receive benefits at College of The Albemarle, you must be pursuing a degree.
   
Q: How do I know if I am eligible for benefits?
A: To find out if you meet or how to meet eligibility requirements, you will need to call the Regional Processing Office in Decatur, Georgia:1-888-442-4551.
   
Q: I haven’t received any money. What’s taking so long?
A: There are several reasons why your check has been delayed. Your benefit may be delayed due to heavy workload at the regional VA office. If you’ve made any changes to your registration or program of study a delay in payment could occur.
   
Q: How long does it take to process benefits?
A: If you have never used your VA benefits before or if you have had a lapse in benefits, you can expect processing to take 6 to 8 weeks.
