Completing Your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
College of The Albemarle (COA) staff is available to help you complete FAFSA. Students (and parents of dependent students) are welcome to visit the Financial Aid Office during office hours for assistance.
COA has contracted with School Servicing Center, a partner of College Foundation of North Carolina (CFNC), to assist you with the FAFSA verification process. You’ll now be able to complete some portions of the verification using the School Servicing Center’s online interview process.
The U.S. Department of Education randomly selects student FAFSAs for verification. If your FAFSA is selected and your information is sent to the School Servicing Center, you’ll receive an email and letter from COA directing you to the School Servicing Center Verification website at sscwp.org, where you’ll be able to track what’s needed and complete most of the verification process. The online interview will walk you and your family through a series of questions to complete your verification. Once completed, School Servicing Center will forward the information to COA for processing.
Please watch for emails from verification@SSCwp.org or firstname.lastname@example.org and respond as quickly as possible. Prompt response will help accelerate the review of financial aid information for the 2016 – 2017 academic year. COA may request other documents to be submitted directly via fax, mail or in person to the Financial Aid Office.
