16th Annual Pinning Ceremony Held for COA’s Medical Assisting Graduates

The sixteenth annual pinning ceremony for College of The Albemarle (COA) Medical Assisting graduates was held Monday, May 6, 2019 at the Elizabeth City Campus.

The graduates, hosting family and friends at the ceremony, received their pins, participated in a candle lighting ceremony and recited the Medical Assisting Creed.

The Stella B. Gallop Spirit of Medical Assisting Award was presented to Kelsey Griggs. The award is presented to a student who best captures the spirit of the profession.

Christy Nixon received the Academic Excellence Award and the Alleene Thompson Memorial Scholarship. Jasmin Smith also received the Alleene Thompson Memorial Scholarship.
