COA & Elizabeth City State University Hold Virtual Signing Ceremony

Elizabeth City, North Carolina — College of The Albemarle (COA) and Elizabeth City State University (ECSU) met virtually on Monday, March 1 to sign articulation agreements that will allow COA students graduating from specific programs to transfer into baccalaureate degree programs at ECSU.

The agreements will help COA students who are interested in transferring to ECSU’s baccalaureate programs in Business Administration or Social Work. COA students from the Associate in Applied Science in Global Business Management and Associate in Applied Science in General Business Administration programs will now be able to seamlessly transfer into ECSU’s Baccalaureate Degree program in Business Administration in multiple concentrations. Graduates of COA’s Human Services Technology program will now have the opportunity to transfer into the Baccalaureate Degree program in Social Work at ECSU. COA students eligible for admission to the ECSU programs above must have completed their associate degree program with at least a 2.5 cumulative grade-point average. The agreements will be fully implemented in fall 2021.

Dr. Jack Bagwell, COA President, and ECSU Chancellor, Karrie Dixon, signed the agreements during the virtual ceremony with officials from COA and ECSU in attendance. “Thank you for being willing partners for us in the agreements that we are signing today as we continue to work toward making it as seamless as possible for our students to earn credits through COA and ECSU,” Dr. Bagwell shared in his remarks. “I see more opportunity for us to work together in partnership in conjunction with not only our two institutions, but with the town and the county to make sure we have the resources to give Northeast North Carolina what it deserves; the best educational opportunities that we can provide.” COA’s Associate in Applied Science degree program in General Business Administration offers an accelerated option, allowing students to earn their degree in just 15 months.
