In support of College of The Albemarle’s (COA) new agriculture program of study, the COA Foundation received a $25,000 grant through the NC Community Foundation. The grant funds were provided from the HCWGMW Endowment.

The new program of study is planning to enroll its first students in the fall of 2018. It’s a two-year Associate Degree program and the college is partnering with North Carolina State University. The partnership will include developing a 2+2 agreement. This agreement will ensure the courses that students take at College of The Albemarle will seamlessly transfer into NC State’s agriculture programs.

As the program of study curriculum is being finalized, the funds provided to the college will provide funding for infrastructure needs and allow COA to begin purchasing specialty equipment and technology specific to the program.
