The College of The Albemarle’s (COA) Academic Success Center (ASC) offers a variety of free academic support services for all COA students to promote academic excellence and student success. These services include on-campus and online Individual/Group Tutoring, walk-in and virtual access to the Writing Center located on the COA – Elizabeth City Campus, scheduled workshops, and 24/7 access to Tutor.com. The Academic Success Center is located on the Elizabeth City campus, in B-Building, 2nd floor, room B214a, and coordinates services to all campus locations. With an inviting atmosphere and friendly, professional staff, the Academic Support Center is here to help you succeed!
The Academic Success Center (ASC) is proud to announce that the College has earned Level 1 certification as a tutor training program from the internationally recognized College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA). Achieving certification means ASC has met CRLA’s high standards for tutor selection, training, direct service, and evaluation. This is an integral part of the overall tutoring program. For more than thirty years, CRLA has led learning assistance, reading, and academic support programs. It has nearly 1,300 members and over 2,000 certified training programs worldwide.
