College of The Albemarle’s (COA) Elizabeth City Campus is a 75-acre site located on U.S. Highway 17, north of Elizabeth City. The campus features classrooms, laboratories, the college bookstore, a student center, the library, computer labs, lecture auditorium, Performing Arts Center, and administrative and faculty offices.
The John Wood Foreman Technology Center houses COA’s Workforce Development and Career Readiness offices, which provide noncredit classes, professional training, and classes for personal enrichment and growth, including computer training, crafts and hobbies, painting, pottery and notary public training.
The Small Business Center offers seminars, computer classes, customized workshops, learning materials and one-on-one counseling for employees, entrepreneurs and small business owners across the college’s seven-county region.
The 22,000-square-foot building A expansion houses two science labs for General Biology, and Anatomy and Physiology, plus three renovated science labs for General Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
The Performing Arts Center (PAC) features a state-of-the-art stage and more than 950 seats. The PAC serves as a venue for the COA Student Theatre (COAST) Players and their theatre series, a season of performances including some of your favorite artists, comedians and children’s musicals. The Elizabeth City Campus is also home to the 57,000-square-foot Dr. Zack D. Owens Health Sciences Center, a joint venture with the YMCA of South Hampton Roads, which houses health sciences programs including Associate Degree Nursing, Practical Nursing, Surgical Technology, Medical Assisting, Phlebotomy and Medical Laboratory Technology.
