College of The Albemarle and Beaufort County Community College Partner to Expand Student Opportunities

Elizabeth City, NC — College of The Albemarle (COA) is proud to announce new Instructional Service Agreements (ISAs) with Beaufort County Community College (BCCC), opening exciting educational and career pathways for students in both areas. ISAs allow students to take general education course requirements at their “home” college and then easily transfer to the partner college to complete program-specific courses. These partnerships enhance COA’s and BCCC’s commitment to providing diverse, high-quality educational opportunities that lead to successful careers.

The latest agreements between the two colleges include:

  • Boat Manufacture and Service – Boat Construction Diploma – Offered at BCCC
    Focused on the intricate craft of boat building, this diploma program offers hands-on training in boat construction techniques, ensuring graduates are ready to meet industry demands​​.   • Culinary Arts Diploma – Offered at COA – Edenton-Chowan

  • Aviation Systems Technology Associate of Applied Science (AAS) – Offered at COA – Currituck

  • Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration (HVAC) Technology Diploma – Offered at COA – Dare and COA – Edenton-Chowan

These agreements represent just a portion of the transfer and educational opportunities available to COA students. Our extensive network includes transfer agreements with institutions across North Carolina and beyond, offering pathways in various fields of study:

  • The University of North Carolina System: COA students can transfer to multiple campuses, including Appalachian State, East Carolina University, Elizabeth City State University, UNC Chapel Hill, and others, in disciplines ranging from Nursing and Engineering to Fine Arts and Early Childhood Education​​.
  • North Carolina Independent Institutions: Agreements with colleges such as Barton College, Belmont Abbey College, and High Point University offer seamless transitions for COA graduates​​.
  • Regional Partnerships: Collaborations with Mid-Atlantic Christian University, Old Dominion University, and Virginia Wesleyan extend opportunities for students pursuing degrees in Nursing, Business Administration, and Medical Laboratory Science​​.
