College of The Albemarle Holds Annual Medical Assisting Pinning

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. – College of The Albemarle (COA) honored its 2025 Medical Assisting (MA) graduates during a pinning ceremony held Monday, July 21, at COA – Elizabeth City.

Graduates Emma Gibbs and Laney Stuckert, both of Camden County, were celebrated for completing 1,216 class and lab hours and 223 clinical hours. During the ceremony, the graduates received their pins, lit candles in a traditional ceremony, and recited the Medical Assisting Creed.

Special recognition awards were presented to both graduates. Emma Gibbs received the Academic Excellence Award, recognizing her outstanding academic achievement. Laney Stuckert was honored with the Stella B. Gallop Spirit of Medical Assisting Award, celebrating her passion for the profession and commitment to excellence in patient care.

In addition to celebrating their graduation, COA proudly announces a 100 percent pass rate on the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) exam administered by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) for the Class of 2025.
