ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. – College of The Albemarle (COA) celebrated the Practical Nursing (P.N.) Class of 2026 during a special pinning ceremony held Tuesday, July 28, at COA – Elizabeth City.
The ceremony recognized the hard work and commitment of 14 graduates, who completed 320 hours in the classroom and 384 hours in clinical settings. In keeping with tradition, the event featured the presentation of pins, the lighting of the Nightingale Lamps and the recitation of the Practical Nurses’ Pledge.
Three awards were presented to honor academic achievement and nursing excellence. Brittany Kanney received the Academic Excellence Award for the highest cumulative GPA in the class. Jordan Stokely received the Program Distinction Award for the highest GPA within the P.N. program, and the Mildred W. Moore Nursing Excellence Award, which recognizes a student who exemplifies excellence in the field of nursing.
