College of The Albemarle (COA) is pleased to present “Marks & Making,” an exhibition by COA – Dare Continuing Education students and instructors. Works include painting, pottery, metals and mixed media by emerging and established artists.
The exhibition opens on Mar. 5 at the COA – Dare Art Gallery, located on the second floor of B Building, 205 U.S. Highway 64, Manteo. An opening reception will be held on Mar. 12, from 12 to 2 p.m.
“Our studio is a place where adults give themselves permission to experiment, make mistakes, and discover their talents,” said Robin York, adjunct art instructor. The “Marks & Making” exhibit celebrates not just the finished pieces, but the creative journey behind each one.”
“Our classes welcome true beginners and seasoned artists alike, and it’s inspiring to see them learn their craft from the instructors, as well as from one another,” said Fay Edwards, COA Workforce Development and Career Readiness Coordinator. “This show celebrates the creativity of our entire studio community.”
The exhibition will remain on display through Mar. 20, with gallery hours Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public.
