ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. – College of The Albemarle (COA) proudly hosted its Spring 2026 commencement ceremonies on Tuesday, May 12, and Wednesday, May 13, honoring the hard work and achievements of 289 graduates who earned a total of 295 degrees and diplomas.
Tuesday’s ceremony at COA – Dare featured many of COA’s Dare County graduates. Wednesday’s celebrations took place at COA – Elizabeth City with ceremonies at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.
President Bagwell presents Alaina Bonanni with the President’s Service Cup for 2026 during the COA – Dare commencement ceremony.
Alaina Bonanni was awarded the President’s Service Cup for 2026. The President’s Service Cup is the most prestigious recognition for graduating students at COA. It recognizes excellence in the classroom, those who make significant contributions through service to the college and who are active in student activities and in their local community.
The recipients of COA’s Campus Cups were the President’s Service Cup Award nominees. The COA Campus Cup recipients included Peyton Zoby, COA – Currituck; Alaina Bonanni, COA – Dare; Anna Dowdy, COA – Edenton-Chowan; and Emily Gray, COA – Elizabeth City.
