College of The Albemarle Celebrates College and Career Readiness Graduation

ELIZABETH CITY– College of The Albemarle (COA) held its College and Career Readiness (CCR) Graduation, on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at the COA Performing Arts Center. There were 20 graduates for the program this year. Russell Fox, a 2023 graduate and academic award recipient, delivered the commencement address at the ceremony. Students enrolled in the program this year were from the following counties: Camden, Currituck, Dare, Pasquotank, and Perquimans.

“This year, we celebrated 20 individuals that completed their high school equivalency or adult high school diploma,” said Dr. Kimberly Gregory, COA Director of College and Career Readiness. “Their hard work and perseverance to reach this moment clearly demonstrates that all dreams and desires are within reach. Some students worked harder, and longer than others, but on graduation night, they all donned their cap and gown and proudly marched across the stage. That makes my heart smile. The high school equivalency or adult high school diploma will not be their highest achievement. It is the beginning of a path forward filled with possibilities.”

Dr. Jack Bagwell, COA President; Russell Fox, Commencement Speaker
