College of The Albemarle Celebrates Outstanding Nursing Exam Results

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. – College of The Albemarle (COA) is pleased to announce the outstanding results from its nursing graduates on the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX). Both the Practical Nursing (P.N.) and Associate Degree Nursing (A.D.N.) programs achieved exceptional outcomes, continuing COA’s tradition of excellence in preparing future nurses.

The P.N. program had a 100 percent first-time pass rate, with all 24 graduates passing the NCLEX-PN exam. The A.D.N. program recorded a 96 percent first-time pass rate, with 24 students successfully passing the NCLEX-RN exam. First-time pass rate refers to the percentage of graduates who pass the NCLEX on their very first attempt, a nationally recognized measure of program quality and student readiness to enter the profession.

“These results are an incredible reflection of the hard work, dedication, and resilience of our nursing students and faculty,” said Dr. Jack Bagwell, COA President. “We are proud of our graduates and the impact they will have in meeting critical healthcare needs across our region.”

Robin Harris, COA Dean of Health Sciences and Wellness Programs, added, “This is a wonderful accomplishment for both programs and a true celebration of the excellence demonstrated by our students and faculty. Our nursing graduates are known for being well-prepared for their roles and for making a meaningful difference in the communities they serve. With the expansion of both nursing programs underway in alignment with the future opening of our new health sciences building for regional expansion of nursing and allied health programs, we are excited about the evolution of nursing education at COA. These successes are also made possible through the strong support of our healthcare partners and facilities across the region, and we are grateful for their continued collaboration.”
