ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. — College of The Albemarle (COA) held a swearing-in ceremony for new and reappointed members on August 11, 2026. During the meeting, the Board approved Selina Jarvis as chair and Dr. Denauvo Robinson as the new vice-chair. Board members expressed appreciation for Tommy Fulcher’s commitment and dedication as chair for 2024-25 and 2025-26.

The Board welcomed trustees who were newly appointed or reappointed by local boards of commissioners and the North Carolina General Assembly:
- Rick Evans, new appointment by the Pasquotank County Board of Commissioners
- Judge Meader Harriss, new appointment by the Perquimans County Board of Commissioners
- Walter “Wally” Overman, new appointment by the Dare County Board of Commissioners
- Jennifer Powell, new appointment by the North Carolina Senate
- Emily Walker, reappointment by the Currituck County Board of Commissioners
- Lola Rountree, reappointment by the Gates County Board of Commissioners
Renee Dowdy, newly appointed by the North Carolina House of Representatives, could not attend the August 11 meeting. She will be sworn in at a later date.
