Students: The College of The Albemarle (COA) Foundation provides more than $300,000 in scholarships every year.
An institution, like a building, measures its fortitude by the depth and strength of its foundation. COA’s success can be directly attributed to the diligent efforts of its Foundation, a nonprofit charitable corporation responsible for managing financial gifts and raising the private funds needed to support COA’s educational mission. Chartered in 1980, COA Foundation helps provide for COA’s student scholarships, new technology, capital projects, program enhancements, and faculty and staff professional development.
A Board of Directors, comprised of business leaders, friends and alumni, oversees the work of the Foundation and makes funding decisions. The Executive Director of Foundation and Development supports the Foundation in its efforts. The Foundation is chartered as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation. All gifts and donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
The Foundation offers businesses and individuals the opportunity to support the college in multiple ways. Through our COA Community Partnership Program, the Foundation is able to build relationships with local businesses that share the college’s goals and are looking to give back to their community. You can also show your support through in-kind donations to the event’s live and silent auctions. Donations are tax deductible. For more information, please contact the Foundation office.
