COA – Elizabeth City
College of The Albemarle (COA) – Elizabeth City is a 75-acre site located on U.S. Highway 17, north of Elizabeth City. The campus features classrooms, laboratories, the college bookstore, a student center, a library, computer labs, auditoriums, the Performing Arts Center and administrative offices.
COA – Elizabeth City offers the Fenwick-Hollowell Wetlands Trail, which is a 3,440-foot boardwalk that runs behind the campus and along the Pasquotank River. We encourage the community to visit, take a walk and enjoy the scenery.
Facilities
John Wood Foreman Technology Center
The Foreman Center houses COA’s Workforce Development and Career Readiness offices, which provide noncredit classes, professional training, and classes for personal enrichment and growth, including computer training, painting, pottery and notary public training.
Small Business Center
The Small Business Center offers seminars, workshops, learning materials and one-on-one counseling for employees, entrepreneurs and small business owners across the college’s seven-county region.
Performing Arts Center (PAC)
The PAC features a state-of-the-art stage and more than 950 seats and serves as a venue for the COA Student Theatre (COAST) Players and their theatre series.
Dr. Zack D. Owens Health Sciences Center
COA – Elizabeth City is also home to the 57,000-square-foot Owens Center, which houses health sciences programs, including Associate Degree Nursing, Practical Nursing, Surgical Technology, Medical Assisting, Phlebotomy and Medical Laboratory Technology.
