COA – Elizabeth City Camps
STEM Camps
The students will learn about the 4 areas of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) and complete hands-on STEM activities.
Camp Scrubs – Health Sciences
The Health Sciences and Wellness Programs are hosting a one-week camp to give high school students a chance to learn more about careers in the medical field. Camp Scrubs is a hands-on learning experience for prospective health science students that gives them the opportunity to explore the different Health Science programs available at COA.
Bucket Brigade Music Camp
Get ready to drum, move, and groove at Bucket Brigade—a high-energy 4-day summer camp where kids turn ordinary buckets into powerful percussion instruments! Designed for ages 7-12, this action-packed camp blends rhythm, teamwork, and creativity for an unforgettable music-making experience. From learning thunderous beats to crafting their own drumsticks, campers will explore the power of percussion while building confidence and having a blast. The week wraps up with a show-stopping performance for family and friends.
Financial Smarts
Get them ready for a lifetime of financial success. Participants learn how money works through fun activities based on how to earn and spend money wisely, save it and invest. Supplies will be provided.
Cyber Security for Kids
Secure your future. Participants will learn the basics of cyber security, the value of their information, and how to be safe in a digital world. Supplies will be provided.
Technology is for Everyone
This camp will allow students to step through the building blocks of Information Technology. The 4 day camp will provide students with hands on activities including webpage development, building networking cables, creating circuits, and ethical hacking. Supplies will be provided.
Babysitting Camp
Provide care with confidence. Participants learn the basics of babysitting, safety and how to help a child with a medical emergency. CPR certification available. Supplies provided – bring your bag lunch.
Kids Ceramics Camps
Learn the art of ceramics through hand building of your own designs and creations. Items will be glazed/fired and picked up the week after camp ends.
*Sparky* Welds Again!
Let the virtual sparks fly! Put on a welder’s mask and outfit and learn how metal cutting and welding work and how they are all around you every day. You’ll even practice virtual welding on a welding simulator. Participants need to bring a lunch.
Broadway or Bust Musical Theatre Camp
Learn more about theatre and putting a show together from start to finish as well as some audition skills! During this week, learn blocking, choreography, and music to put on a show as well as make your own props and costume pieces. Includes performance at the end of camp on Thursday.
Future Teachers Camp
Calling all Future Teachers Academy – Kids step into the role of a teacher, designing fun lessons, leading activities, and learning how to inspire others through creative teaching. This camp is STEM focused.
COA – Dare Camps
Pottery Camp: Wind, Water, Earth, Balloons!
Learn the basics of hand building and decorative surface design in this hands-on pottery camp. Students will use balloons to shape and support sculptural clay creations, and explore surface design and underglazes. Class will meet each Thursday from 10am – 12pm. Special Instructions: Wear clothes that can get dirty.

Fiber Arts Camp
Learn the basics of fiber arts in this immersive camp! Students will learn four different ways of working with fiber: knitting, weaving, embroidery, and dyeing. Projects include knitting a Knit a Taylor Swift Eras Tour scarf or cowl, learning Scandanavian weaving techniques like Ranuu (tapestries) and Rya (knot techniques), Itajime Shibori and Indigo Vat Dying, and embroidery techniques. Supplies are provided.

HVAC is Cool!
HVAC is Cool! Students will learn a basic introduction to how AC systems work by completing hands-on mechanical and electrical projects related to HVAC Systems. Participants need to bring a lunch. Special Instructions: Closed Toe Shoes.
COA – Currituck Camps
Aviation Summer Camp
Take-Off in the Field of Aviation! Students will learn basic aerodynamics, design and fabricate an airfoil to test in a wind tunnel and make a taxi aircraft. Participants need to bring a lunch.

Public Safety Camp
Kids train like first responders and gain experience in the fields of Fire Fighting, Law Enforcement and EMS. Each day will provide hands-on activities such as using emergency response skills, learning fire safety, and participating in fun physical challenges. Special Instructions: Closed Toe Shoes.
Manufacturing Camp
From idea to reality! This course will teach students how ideas go from paper to digital design to manufacturing the part and holding it in their hand. Students will be exposed to Computer Aided Design (CAD), Computer Integrated Machining (CIM) and Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing). Participants need to bring a lunch. Special Instructions: Long Pants / Closed-Toe Shoes.
COA – Edenton-Chowan Camps
Kids Culinary Camp
This camp will allow students a trial run at our Culinary Arts program with 3 days of lessons and hands-on cooking activities in the newly renovated Culinary program building. Lunch will be made daily and eaten together as a class. Special Instructions: Closed Toe Shoes
